Not all of Atlantis was sunk by the Great Deluge; for the force of the colossal wave broke fragments of the continent off, sending them adrift into the sea. Cut off from the rest of the kingdom, these island which now formed the Atlantis Archipelago, did their best to survive with the little they had salvaged.
As a result, while they saw themselves as Atlanteans, they were not classified as Homo mermanus. Nevertheless, they were Homo magi and shared an affinity with magic.
During the 1940s, they were ruled by Prince Taro and his sister, Princess Lanya, who defended the islands from Nazi invasion fleets led by naval admiral Von Buritz.
